You can try to present your card again, and if it is not accepted again, one of the cases listed in the next questions may exist.

  • the card does not belong to one of the authorised circuits
  • the card is black-listed (current account has insufficient balance, is blocked or other reasons)

Yes. Each card (or device) allows several people to travel at the same time, up to a maximum of 20 passengers.

From the first tap of the contactless card on the green validator, (VPE) for the next 5 min. each TAP of the same card on the VPE corresponds to the purchase of a ticket of the set/selected fare. In order to purchase tickets with the same card again, a further 5 min. must elapse until 10 min. the message "Card already Validated" is displayed.

When it has not been possible to charge the amount due to the card correctly (e.g. insufficient credit), the card is automatically black-listed by the system ("Denied Card List") and from that moment on cannot be used to access the transport system.

This condition is temporary: any unsuccessful debits can be regularised later by crediting the payment card account with the amount needed to cover the ticket expenditure, making the payment card available again for travel.

Black-listing is a condition that only concerns the use of the EMV system and should not be confused with blocking the card, which instead continues to be available for normal use.
